Part and Process Development:
Benefit from our years of product design optimization & development experience.
With over 1000 molds designed, which include gears, lenses and other precision parts, we have the experience to assist our partners in better performing products/ tools. We specialize in medical, industrial, defense, construction and consumer markets. Our multi-shot, in-mold decoration, insert molding, collapsible cores, conformal cooling, ....experience provides for high value molded parts where assembly can be eliminated or the use of plastics vs metals can be used.
Our design process includes the use of SolidWorks. The full tool development includes DFMs, injection mold design including Moldflow and process/molding optimization in our development labs that benefit from RJG Master Molder process development certifications.
Experience includes: ABS, PP, HDPE, Nylon, Polyesters, PC, Peek, acetals, Ultem™, ...fiberglass filled materials ...
As the development process advances, take advantage of our diverse prototyping options including SLA, cast, machined, and molded prototypes to meet your specific needs.
Co-Located Development Lab:
We offer special development services where our partners have exclusive space and privacy for their teams to work and develop new products/programs while benefitting from our tooling, molding and support expertise.
Carpentermold developed a gun sight and an ammo magazine for a major gun OEM. We developed a total of 9 tools and then provided molding and assembly for the product launch until tooling could be moved to the OEM's facilities.
Tooling was hardened steel plus plating for toughness and the resin was 33% glass filled nylon.
Recently we developed new injection molded frames for local eyeglass company - AARN.

We developed a new product to aid in aeration of soil/roots of plants called Grow Balz. It involved designing specialized tooling to provide 0.032 diameter pins with spherical shut off.
